Anderson-Peterson Family Distinguished Athlete Award recipients

Also, during this year’s program, the Hammond Sports Hall of Fame will present its 35th  annual Anderson-Peterson Family Distinguished Student-Athlete Award to two 2025 high school graduates of Hammond schools who depict athletic achievement, academic excellence, dedication, citizenship, and school and community service.

The recipients are Talina Cisneros, Hammond Central alumna and Zekiel Zukley, Bishop Noll graduate.

Talina Cisneros, a five-time letter winner competing in volleyball and softball, was selected all-conference and academic all-state, as well as Hammond Central’s Scholar Athlete of the Year. Outside of athletics, she was a member of her school’s National Honors Society chapter, JROTC, Natural Helpers and she served as a class officer. She also has been active in her church and has continued her education at the United States Naval Academy.

Zekiel Zukley, earned 13 varsity letters in four sports at Bishop Noll, including all-conference recognition in football, soccer and track & field. He also was a multi-season captain of soccer, football and volleyball squads. He achieved academic all-state recognition, was named an Indiana Colts Academic All-Star and served as salutatorian of his graduation class last spring. Additionally, he was vice president of Noll’s Student Athletic Council and participated in the Student Ambassadors organization. Within his community, he has assisted with the People’s Turkey Drive, been active in his church and served as a food pantry volunteer. He has continued his football career at DePauw University.
